Humanely Raised Beef

Stacked Two Steaks places stewardship of the land and livestock at the forefront of our operation. From no-till farming to better protect the high-desert landscape, to thoughtful genetics for our cattle, we do everything we can to be progressive and conscious producers. Our beef is selected for faster finishing so they eat less feed and gain more weight in a shorter amount of time. Angus is known for its smaller, more efficient build, which is easier on pasture and allows for faster finishing—all while being humanely raised. Happy cows make the best beef!

It is important to know where your food comes from and how it gets from our ranch to your table. We hope you’ll try it out for yourself to see that our high-quality beef makes all the difference! Our beef is raised on native prairie grass and finished on high-quality distillers grain ration. Despite popular rhetoric, this method of raising beef is actually the most environmentally friendly and health-conscious way to consume beef.

This method of raising beef takes what would otherwise be considered waste; this can come from several sources such as wheat/corn stubble remaining from farming, or “mash” — byproducts from brewery distilling. Due to their unique digestive system, the cattle are able to take these byproducts, that would otherwise be waste; digest them, and turn them into the most protein-dense, nutritious source of food for our bodies in the world. This finishing technique, accompanied by rotational grazing practices, is not only great for the cattle but for the preservation of the native grasslands.

Regenerative Practices

Animal husbandry is the most important aspect of our beef cattle operation. We have a saying in our industry, "If you take care of the cattle, the cattle will take care of you." Providing a low-stress environment is a top priority on our ranch. We move cattle from pasture to pasture using horses, the old-fashioned way. Treating our animals with love and care allows us to raise happy cows; happy cows provide incredible beef!

Furthermore, enough land exists in our country to pivot all beef production to this type of regenerative agricultural model — incorporating this environmentally-friendly approach — creating the most healthful food option for our consumption and for the planet.
